Life on Medication- 7 years later

I have been on and off of mental health medicine for 7 years now. 7 years of trying new medication. 7 years of medication that has stopped working. 7 years of on and off withdrawals because I thought I could do this on my own. 7 years. The thing is with antidepressants is that sometimes you have to keep trying until you find the right one. For everybody who is reading this right now and is thinking of going on medication or you just started medication, my best piece of advice is to keep going. It is going to get worst before it gets better. I am hoping your better is your best. My hope is that you found the right med on the first try and you are living life more fully. I am really hesitant to put this out there but my ultimate goal of this blog is to be REAL and to help women like me who struggle in silence. In 7 years I have been on ALMOST EVERY antidepressant on the market. Some worked for a while, some didn’t work, some made me sweat uncontrollably, some made my heart race, some made me ill, and some made me a complete zombie. If the first medication you put in your mouth isn’t working for you, try and try again. Healing is not linear. Healing is possible.
